About us
Since 1980, a popular community eatery
Mario Tremblay has many memories of his career with the Montreal Canadiens, but one of the most memorable is the acquisition of his brewery on August 14, 1980. With his friend Denis Tremblay, they bought "Brasserie le Viking", later renamed "Brasserie Mario Tremblay". In 1986, Mario's brother-in-law Pierre Gaudreault joined the adventure.
In 1992, the establishment became "Restaurant-Bar Mario Tremblay" with a modernized concept and major renovation. In 1996, an expansion added an upstairs room, offering a multifunctional event space and the region's first "Cigar Room". After Denis Tremblay's death in 2000, Mario and Pierre continued together, carrying out two major renovations between 2002 and 2020.
Since 2021, a new era
In 2021, Sébastien Rodrigue took over the restaurant, renamed "Chez Mario Tremblay". Committed to preserving this local institution, he teamed up with local producers (beer, fruit, vegetables, breads, cheeses, meat) to offer an authentic experience: a warm welcome, tasty cuisine, fresh produce, impeccable service and a meticulous wine list.
Whether you're looking for a quick meal, a P'tit Mario (cold lager), a romantic dinner or a meal with friends, the whole team welcomes you and thanks you for your confidence.
We look forward to welcoming you,
Sébastien
