Nestled in the heights of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Manoir Davis is a heritage gem that combines prestigious history with modern luxury.
A Fascinating Story
Built around 1910, this elegant neoclassical mansion was originally Château Belvoir, the second home of Sir Mortimer Barnett Davis, Canadian tobacco magnate nicknamed the "Tobacco King" and chairman of Imperial Tobacco.
Sir Davis, one of Canada's wealthiest men in the early 20th century, was also a great philanthropist who bequeathed a significant part of his fortune to build the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.
After Sir Davis's death in 1928, the castle went through several owners and decades of neglect, despite several attempts at revitalization in the 1990s and 2000s.
Renaissance in 2021
In 2020, three cousins with a passion for heritage discovered this unique place and undertook a major 9-month restoration. Château Belvoir was renamed Manoir Davis in homage to its illustrious founder, and opened its doors to the public in 2021.
Today managed by Belvoir, the manor has been meticulously renovated to preserve its historic soul while offering every modern comfort.
