About us
Saint-Gilles Church, built in 1830, was the first place of worship in the hamlet of Cushing, welcoming some 300 Methodists and Presbyterians until the community migrated, a few years later, to Saint Mungo's Church in Brownsburg-Chatham. Erected in a neoclassical style typical of the buildings of the period that can be appreciated to this day throughout the MRC d'Argenteuil, the chapel has preserved its powerful wooden structure and its original cachet, making it a place of interest both for lovers of architectural heritage and for the acoustics offered by its enclosure.
The Espace culturel Saint-Gilles will see the light of day in the fall of 2020, and today opens its doors to artists of various disciplines in the hope of becoming a privileged meeting place between the local artistic community and beyond, and the public eager for new experiences, beauty, heritage, culture and the arts in and around the Cushing area.
